6th Chakra (Brow) Meditation


sixth chakraThe sixth chakra is sometimes referred to as the third eye. This has to do with this it’s involvement with “clear seeing”. The concept being that clear headedness, and clarity of thought are a result of this chakra running effectively. This chakra is involved with intuition and seeing into the future. The colour associated with it is a rich deep indigo or purple.

Here is a short meditation (anywhere from about 5 minutes and up) that can be useful in aiding the flow of energy in this chakra.

Sit upright in a comfortable chair, feet flat on the floor and hands open in your lap.

Close your eyes and breath in deeply, imagining your breath reaching every part of your body. As you breath out feel any tension in your body melting away.

For the next 2 – 3 minutes breath in a clean rich purple (or indigo), as you inhale deeply and fully, sense this colour is opening up your ability to think clearly and calmly, and as you exhale feel it blowing away any cobwebs of confusion.

Continue to breath deeply and trust that your ability to know what is right for yourself is becoming clearer.

Spend a few breaths (maybe 2-3 minutes) sensing what is going on in your body and your mind. As thoughts come up, let them go and refocus on the calmness, knowing you can trust your intuition.

When you feel are finished, stand up, stretch and take a moment to appreciate your physical body that allows you to take action on your knowing and inspiration.
