4th Chakra (Heart) Meditation

fourth chakraThe fourth Chakra is referred to as the “Heart” chakra. The colour associated with it is a rich life-filled green. When the energy is flowing in this chakra one feels love for themselves and compassion for others. Physically this chakra is associated with the circulatory system, heart and lungs.

Here is a short meditation (anywhere from about 5 minutes and up)  that can be useful in bolstering the flow of energy in this chakra

Colour meditation for the heart chakra

Sit upright in a comfortable chair, feet flat on the floor and hands open in your lap.

Close your eyes, breath in deeply, imagining your breath reaching every part of your body. As you breath in feel any tension melting away.

For the next 2 – 3 minutes breath in a rich verdant green. As you inhale, feel the colour green infusing you with the sense that it is ok and healthy to love yourself. Feel the green melting away any anger and tension you hold against others. By releasing that anger and tension it gives you more room to heal and strengthen your own heart.

As you breath in this healing green energy feel it healing your heart and lungs, as you breath out feel calmness and tranquility filling the areas that were tense with anger or tension.

Spend a few breaths (maybe 2-3 minutes) sensing what is going on in your body and your mind. As thoughts come up, just let them go and refocus on sensing the positive energy.

When you are ready stand up, stretch and go about the rest of your day 🙂
